Christopher & Dinah Lee have been a design team since they met on Maui in 1980.
They were both accomplished artists in their own right, but as a team they found an expanded creative movement in their artistic endeavors.
Christopher was air-brushing creative, new wave graphics of the 80's era onto fabrics and Dinah was busy designing the silhouettes. Rick James, the King of Funk, walked into Christopher's store in Lahina, Maui and saw his work. He instantly stated "I'm taking you to New York and making you rich and famous". So they moved to New York and started a design company. They were very successful creating wearable art for their clients which included boutiques, department stores and specialty chains.
In 1987 they moved the company to California with continued success, and to Laguna Beach in 1993 where they used the front of their design studio as a retail store, The Gallery of Wearable Art.
In 2001 they opened the Gallery of Wearable Art at the Porte House in Cambria's Historic East Village, followed by the sister store, GOWA Creative Arts in 2006. They made a permanent move to the Central Coast in 2009 and are proud to call Cambria home.
